2011 Projects

I decided last year that the front border is past saving, so it will become a managed wild area, allowing it to grow wild until the bulb foliage dies down and then mowed with only the shrubbery to show for a gardened area.It had become too shady, anyway. A new garden area is started in a more sunny area, with a more practical prairie theme of ornamental grasses and blocks of prairie plants like the echinacea.
2010 Projects
- work on converting vegetable patch to kitchen garden/potager
- get rid of junky looking areas- cleanup and hide Husbands work stuff, trash bins, etc.
- prune trees
- do something with that front border

... we have made some progress on ridding the yard of "junky areas". Still some work to do on that. Did a controlled burn on the front border, but that is temporary. I think I will start removing valuable plants, and start anew, one block area at a time. Decided to place a paved seating are in the overly large shaded section.
